Sheri Joins Launch Engine As Contributing Author!

Over the past few months I have been honored to join the team of a new online news platform called Launch Engine as a contributing author! Its mission is to cover technology, organizations, innovation, social causes, start ups, politics, business news and culture in middle Tennessee. I have really enjoyed being able to virtually meet business owners and fellow artists for interviews. It has been so much fun to tell their stories through this platform and I wanted to share with my photo business community.

For more than 25 years I have been a commercial photographer both in Tennessee and in Florida where I had a studio back in the 90’s. Writing is something I have always aspired to do but I have always kept it on a personal level due to being known as a professional photographer. For years I have worked on personal writing projects and marketing content for my photography business through my “diary of a storyteller…” blog/news page.

When Justin Stokes reached out to me several months ago after an introduction from friend and artist, Randy Purcell, I was excited for the opportunity to contribute. While I have no plans to leave my career as a photographer, this new endeavour has rejuvenated my creativity, especially with business being slow due to the challenges of Covid.

Once we can travel freely and be in larger groups, my hope will be to find opportunities in the publishing industry where I can combine my photography and writing abilities to share stories about people, travel, culture and art.

If you would like to read about some of the people I have interviewed click on the story photos below and let me know what you think. If you have a great idea for a story please reach out to me or send your idea to Justin to be considered.
