Nashville Loves Food: City House
By Sheri Oneal Another year is almost over, and boy has it gone fast! This is my last blog for the “Nashville Loves Food” series and it showcases Chef Tandy Wilson of City House Restaurant. I love this restaurant and I know many of you in the Nashville area feel the same. When I visited him in August he was in his kitchen prepping for the day ahead and I learned about how he got started in the food industry. The women in Tandy’s family created his love for food at an early age. His mom and grandmother were his key influences growing up. He attended Scottsdale Culinary Institute and went…
Made in America: The Hermitage
By Sheri Oneal Earlier this year I was asked to shoot some photos of The Hermitage in Nashville Tennessee for an editorial assignment in American Spirit Magazine. This historical landmark is perfect for my “Made in America” blog series so I wanted to share it with you all. The Hermitage is a plantation and a museum that attracts tourists from all over the country. It was owned by President Andrew Jackson from 1804 until his death in 1845. The magazine article centered around Andrew Jackson’s historical home, what inspired him to build this beautiful living space and the history behind his historical mansion. A copy of the article can be…
Made in America: Elliston Place Soda Shop

I didn’t live in that time when date night was a burger and a shake and soda shops were as common as fast food chains but my parents did and they remember it well. I do remember sitting at the soda fountain at Woolworth as a child with my grandmother eating grilled cheese sandwiches and I loved the show “Happy Days!” Originally…
Made in America: The Parthenon
A tour of the Parthenon in Nashville, TN originally built in 1897 as a centerpiece for the state fair at Centennial Park for Made in America blog series.
A perfect Saturday at Arrington Vineyards!
By Sheri Oneal Last Saturday (August 11) I attended for the first time the Arrington Vineyards annual Harvest Party. They had the largest crowd ever and the weather was absolutely perfect. The day consisted of wine tastings, musical performances and hot air balloons. It was a delight to watch so many people having a wonderful time outdoors with their family and friends. The hot air balloons were beautiful to see in the clear blue sky and Kix Brooks rocked the stage for more than an hour. People lounged, loved and laughed. Many enjoyed sharing a picnic and sipping on the wonderful wine that Arrington sells at the facility. The event…
