Letterpress printer Nan Flynn recently embarked on an exciting new chapter, launching a new website to showcase her exquisite letterpress printing creations. To perfectly complement her new brand and highlight her beautiful products, Nan reached out to me for professional photography. I had the incredible opportunity to photograph and interview Nashville watercolor artist Phil Ponder in his home studio for The Creative Push podcast’s artist interview series. Phil is renowned for his stunning hand-painted iconic architectural images of Nashville, capturing the city’s unique charm and history. When I first met Phil at an art gathering, I was surprised to learn we were both from Ocala, Florida! I rarely meet other natives from my charming hometown in central Florida. It’s a small world, and even smaller in the art community! Though Phil began his journey as a painter after retirement, he has quickly achieved significant recognition in Nashville. His meticulous artwork plays…

James Suh Of Taco Diplomacy
My recent interviewfor my podcast series The Creative Push was with James Suh, the man behind Taco Diplomacy. The idea started with a recent taco pop-up that was the result of the COVID lockdown which allowed him more time at home in the kitchen with his hobby baker wife Karri. She inspired him to perfect some of his international recipes from the food flavors he remembered as a child. They both started offering free tastings from their home in order to get honest feedback on their recipes. The success of their pop-up tastings led to the creation of Taco Diplomacy. James acknowledges that his concept is not just about tacos,…

Hobby Baker Kerri Suh
I wanted to check in and share some news, projects, and photos from a recent shoot I did with a local Nashville hobby baker. I have not offered much about my photo career over the past year and a half but it isn’t because I haven’t been busy! While photography assignments have been cut more than 60% due to COVID I decided to use all of my available time in search of new avenues for my creativity. Assignment photography has been a real struggle due to COVID but rather than wait for business to resume to some kind of normal I began exploring ways I could extend my talent virtually. …
A Virtual Photoshoot Playday
Being a commercial photographer, I rely primarily on freelance assignment work as an income. Back in the heart of the Pandemic last year when we all were in lockdown I began to realize that I was going to have to up my game to find new ways ofgenerating some revenue. After months and months of hoping this was all going to pass, I decided to set up a playday and attempt to do a live virtual photoshoot. The goal was to see if it was possible to direct and shoot photos of someone virtually by determining the best lighting, angles, and use of whatever camera device they had available. I…
